s5366  An oak Cotswold tallboy of small proportions with seven graduated drawers on chamfered sledge feet, with exposed dovetail and through wedge tenon construction and with carved walnut handles, attributed to Peter Waals, circa 1925. 137cm (54in) high, 60cm (23.5in) wide, 48cm (18in) deep. See similar tallboy chest by Peter Waals in ‘Ernest Gimson and the Cotswold Craftsmen’ by Annette Carruthers p 67 and the same handles appear on various Peter Waals pieces for example see no. 56 in ‘Good Citizens Furniture’ Annette Carruthers & Mary Greensted, Cheltenham Art Gallery Museum.
