The Arts & Crafts Movement was particularly influential on the modern movements in art, architecture and design. The proprietors of The Millinery Works, Brian Thompson & Derek Rothera, realised the opportunity to stress this link by using part of the space to promote the work of living artists.

The space has been arranged into Gallery 1 where The Antique Trader has its permanent sale/exhibition of period Arts & Crafts together with special shows of particular themes and designers. 

Gallery 2 (see plan left), is available for guest exhibitions of appropriate modern works and collections. Each year we put on at least 2 furniture exhibitions details of which are on the Past Furniture Exhibitions page.
