john atkinson
Man-U-Woman Oil on Canvas 40 x 40cm 2006
After graduating from Coventry College of Art and Design and working as a graphic designer for 37 years, John now paints full time from his studio in Norfolk. His preferred mediums are oils or acrylics and his subjects range from portraiture to land and seascapes.
Having won the SAA prize for Seascapes in 2004 and 2005, in 2006 he won the Eastern Daily Press East Anglian Artist of the Year competition with a portrait entitled 'The Ice-cream Eaters' featuring his wife and family. His work has been exhibited in York and London and is currently on display in Southwold. Several pieces have also been selected for display by the owners of St Giles House Hotel, the multi-million pound boutique hotel in Norwich which features in the television series 'Hell to Hotel'.
