The Church at Old Heathfield from Chapel Cross
Watercolour on paper 20 x 20cm 2005
Chris was born in 1941 at Southend on Sea in Essex and spent three years full time learning to draw and paint at the Southend School of Art and Design. He chose to become a graphic designer by profession and, as an extension to his design commissions, started painting watercolours in 1970.
To improve his skills, Chris attended weekly residential courses held The Royal Watercolour Society. He also became a regular member of City Painters, a one day a month painting course around London, held by Sarah Holliday RWS.
Chris's paintings have been accepted for the RWS Open Exhibition at the Bankside Gallery on several occasions, and he has many works in private collections.
Now living in the East Sussex countryside, much of his inspiration is drawn from the landscapes, farms and churches of the Sussex Weald.
