THE MILLINERY WORKS GALLERY

ANNUAL EXHIBITION OF Contemporary BRITISH ART JANUARY 2007

Christine-Ann Richards

    Thrown Dark Green Crackle Dish 21 x 3.5cm 2005

Christine-Ann Richards trained at Harrow School of Art under Mick Casson (1971-73) and worked for David Leach in 1974. In London, in 1975, she started her own workshop as a member of the Barbican Arts Group and in 1990 moved to Somerset. She is a Fellow of the Society of Designer Craftsmen and the Craft Potters Association.

Ever since a trip, with fellow potters, to China nearly 30 years ago she has looked towards the east as a source of inspiration. This is evident both in her thrown porcelain and in her larger exterior works which grew out of a Winston Churchill Travel Fellowship to Japan in 1996 ‘to explore the way that water is used in landscape and architecture’.
