Joan Stanton

Painter, Printmaker and Teacher. Born and lives in London. Studied at Chelsea School of Art and Brighton College of Art.
Early in her career Joan taught in state secondary schools. She became an Art and Design Advisor for the ILEA Art Inspectorate, then a Senior Lecturer at the London College of Printing. She has participated in various projects: For the British Council; West Dene College; Peckham Arts Project.
Currently the human form is central to her work, responding to the body in motion, using the model in a series of choreographed sequences and working from dancers in rehearsal provides her with the opportunity to observe and draw the more complex forms of the human body.
She has work in private collections in the UK and in Europe. She has exhibited in various mixed shows.
