Michael's paintings explore changing perceptions of the

body brought about by fresh insights into living structure

and function. In bodyworks the stylised form of the

diagram merges with the pliant textures of the

ambiguous human body. The violence expressed in our

urge to dissect the world and understand its underlying

mechanisms is countered by the artists exploitation of

colour.
