During the 1940's-50's Rimmington studied at the Slade School of Art in London, going on to establish himself as a master of the still life genre. He has gone on to exhibit widely throughout the UK, Europe and the USA, with work currently in collections at the Imperial War Museum, the Museum of London, Bradford City Art Gallery, the Gulbenkian Foundation and the University of Wisconsin.
In 2007 the Millinery Works showed a range of Rimmington's works from 1987-2007. He then went on to be selected as a guest artist in the 2013 prestigious Threadneedle Prize exhibition among some of the best emerging new talent.
An essay penned by Laura Gascoin - acclaimed journalist and art critic - on Rimmington's 2003 show 'Drawing a Line North' can be found here, in our past exhibitions section.
