The fireplace was an important part of the house at the turn of the 19th century with some beautiful fireplaces designed by, among other, Thomas Jeckyll. A fireplace also needed fire irons, coal buckets, trivets and fenders. These were mostly made in wrought iron, steel, brass, and copper. The Cotswold School produced some fine examples.
