An oak and rush seated 'Gimson' ladderback rocking chair with chamfering to the ladders, designed by Ernest Gimson in 1906, made by Neville Neal, third quarter of C20th, 117cm (46in) high. See 'Ernest Gimson and the Cotswold Craftsmen' by Annette Carruthers, p. 91. Neville Neal was taught by Edward Gardiner who made a lot of the Ernest Gimson designs for him during and after his lifetime.
