Ambrose Heal An oak Arts & Crafts dresser, angled cornice, one long shelf and two short shelves between cupboards with panelled doors, over two drawers, over two cupboards with door of cross-banding, flush panel construction, on square section and then turned baluster legs, with low stretchers. The drawers and cupboards have drop-ring handles and strap hinges with heart-shaped ends of hammered steel. Designed by Ambrose Heal circa 1905, 192cm (75.5in) high, 156cm (61.5in) max wide, 56cm (22in) deep. The metalwork on this dresser is that first used on the St Ives range of bedroom furniture in 1897 and made by The Guild of Handicraft.
