Reynolds of Ludlow An oak Cotswold School blanket box, stopped chamfering to the supports, exposed dowel and chamfered frame construction, with fielded panelled, reeded and cross-banded top, wrought iron hinges, labelled, circa 1950, 44.5cm (17.5in) high, 124cm (49in) wide, 45cm (18in) deep. Established in Ludlow in 1946, Arthur Basil Reynolds, (1903 - 1960), a Quaker, had served a cabinet making apprenticeship and then worked for Stanley Webb Davies in Windermere. The firm exhibited at The Festival of Britain, House and Garden Pavilion, 1951, and sold via Heal's. SOLD
