A mahogany Arts & Crafts high-sided wing chair with turned column front legs extended to finials, shaped sides, in the manner of Voysey, retailed by Liberty's, circa 1900, newly upholstered in fern pattern fabric, designed by Elsie de Wolfe, 110cm (43.5in) high, 69cm (27.5in) wide. Elsie de Wolfe (1859 - 1950) aka Lady Mendle, a New Yorker, was credited by The New Yorker as inventing interior design as a profession.
