Oak, Free-Standing Desk


A rare, quarter-sawn, oak, free-standing desk with one long drawer between two short drawers over one deep drawer to each pedestal, pull-out slide to the top of each pedestal, panelled back, with shaped apron and legs, inset oval and nipped handles, designed by Ambrose Heal, made at Heal's Cabinet Factory, Tottenham Court Road, stamped 'Heal & Son' to the locks, circa 1905, 79cm (31in) high, 157cm (61.5in) wide, 73cm (29in) deep. This is a very early design by Ambrose Heal, the handle design being first used for the 'Owl' cabinet in 1904. SOLD
