Stanley Webb Davies (1895 - 1978) A walnut stool, exposed through wedged tenon construction, stopped chamfering to the supports and chamfering to the apron, drop-in upholstered seat, monogrammed and dated 1938, 41cm (16in) high, 44.5cm (17.5in) wide, 36cm (14in) deep. Stanley Webb Davies, a Quaker, served in The Friends War Victims Relief Unit in WW1, building wooden houses for refugees. In 1920 he joined the Romney Green workshop. By 1926 he had established his own workshop in Windermere, Lake District. He retired in 1961.
